We loved The Plough and can highly recommend it, both as a pub with excellent food and a place to stay overnight as a brilliant B&B. The pub was very booked on the Friday night, but staff found us a table so we could eat and relax after a long journey. The food was delicious - I had the nachos starter and my partner went straight to the waffles dessert. It looked so delicious I ended up having a sundae - highly recommended. Despite it being really busy, the staff made time to chat to us and welcome us. In the morning the owner was on breakfast shift, and was friendly, well-informed about the local area and made sure we had all we needed e.g. finding me yoghurt to go with my proper fresh fruit salad. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. It's a great place to stay if you want to explore the area.....

Location was perfect, the room spacious and extremely clean, the breakfast and evening meal really tasty. The staff also went out of their way to make sure our bicycles were stored somewhere secure overnight. It might be an idea to supplement the bike parking in the car park, which is good for short day time visits with some further bike parking for overnight visitors in an area out of view. The bike parking in the car park is not secure enough for touring bicycles to be left overnight since it is too visible and only secures the front wheel making theft of the bike very easy. Touring bikes often cost over £2000 and are also the means of transport to and from the pub!

Our 2nd time staying here and we loved it just as much if not more than our first! The family suite is beyond perfect for our family, gorgeously decorated and the beds are ultra comfortable! The staff during dinner, breakfast and in general are exceptional Jenny, Lisa, Emily are the lovely ladies we met and they are an absolute credit to the team. Nothing was too much, they were attentive, chatty and had real genuine care about their customers. The food is awesome! Highly recommend their pizzas! Would not hesitate to book here again and shout about the place to all my friends. A real gem and credit to the hospitality business.

Great sized room with en-suite, both nicely decorated. Good selection of teas and coffee available in the room. The restaurant ambience was inviting, mix of contemporary and rustic. The menu choices were very varied so options for all tastes. All meals we had were good sized portions and were delicious. I note that some clients had stated the food was pricey however quality comes at an extra cost so we thought it was worth it and we would highly recommend the restaurant. Shaun and the team were attentive and all were very helpful.

There was nothing to dislike. We arrived early and had a meal before checking in. The food was really delicious & good value the rooms were very spacious & the shower was super powerful. The rooms were a little to warm for our liking the beds were comfortable although ours was a little raised in the middle so as a side sleeper not so good the pillows could have been a little more comfortable but saying that we all slept ok. The staff were all amazing & the breakfast was excellent. We definitely will be returning next year.
